For this journal, we were to get into groups and then do research and decide what we wanted to do. What were told to do, was to film and record as we break social norms. While filming, we need to abide by rules. We can also not be caught filming, as it would not be a valid research. Each group had to break two social norms, one in school and one outside of school.
Step 1
For step one, the group needed to pick two social norms to break for this project and then have them approved by our teacher. While the social norms were being approved, we were to read through the background of Social Psychology terms we were given, and use them in interviews after breaking a norm.
Step 2
For step two, the group would begin filming our approved proposals. when filming, we were to interview our subjects if possible, as well as tell them what we were doing, and then ask them questions about what they thought and why they acted like they did.
Step 3
After filming and recording, at least five subjects for out of school and five in school, the group was to start editing the film and information. After filming and putting the clips together, we were to show the video to the class, and we needed to state how people reacted, as well as explanations from our group of why we think they acted how they did, using the terms from the background of Social Psychology.

The group looked up ideas on what to do for social norms, we watched YouTube videos to get some ideas, and then decided to do tag in school, and for out of school, we had one person in a cart at Meijer act as a child, and another push act as a parent. We then started typing up our proposal to be approved by Ms. Kim.

The group went out of school to work on the out of school social norm that was approved by Ms. Kim. For the out of school social norm, the group had one person get into a cart, and another push the cart. the person in the cart was to act as a child, and the person pushing the cart was to act as a parent figure. The other two group members were secretly filming and taking note of peoples reactions.
